3M Scotchcal Translucent Film Series 230

Description
3M Scotchcal Translucent Films are durable and dimensionally stable. They are designed for use on internally illuminated signs or for window graphics applications. They have uniform color in both reflected and transmitted light, and have low gloss to eliminate glare. These films are intended for application to flat acrylic, polycarbonate, fiberglass, and glass substrates. They can be applied to either the interior or exterior surface of any of these substrates, but are not intended for use on flexible sign faces, with the exception of Panaflex 940 and 945 flexible substrate.

3M Scotchcal Transclucent Films have optimal cutting, weeding, lifting, and transfer properties when used with automated vinyl cutting machines as well as optimal printing characteristics for use with our digital printing system.

Effective Performance Life
When processed in accordance with 3M recommended procedures, and exposed vertically, five year performance may be expected (230-131 and 230-141 three year performance may be expected). All performance statements are based upon field experience and exposure tests conducted throughout the United States. Performance will be determined by substrate selection and preparation, exposure conditions and maintenance of the markings.

In the case of South facing signs in areas of long, high temperature seasons and maximum sunny days, such as the Southwestern area of the U.S., exterior performance will be decreased.

Shelf Life
Unprinted film may be stored by the fabricator for a period of up to one year. Markings may be stored for an additional period of up to one year. Sheeting and markings must be stored in a clean area, free from excessive moisture and direct sunlight, with ambient temperatures of 100°F (38°C) or less.

Minimum Application Temperature
(Film and Substrate) 60°F (16°C)
